Having been desired by the commanding Royal Engineer to put you in communication with myself on the subject of my appointment to the Office of the Surveyor General at Hong Kong, to which I have been nominated, I have the honour to state that I shall be relieved from my duties in ... from this date and shall be ready to sail for that Colony on the 1st of September.
